The j-be motorcycle scooter were small displacement 125cc Sachs single cylinder 2 stroke engines in Hercules cycle trim, sold through Berliner organization and was named after Joseph. When Berliner imported them, he had them changed over to 16 wheels from 18 so could make easier ride for first time riders. Anyway, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.
So why did they make this motorcycle wheel. Therein lies the rub. My first motorcycle was a j-be, although I don't want to own one again. The only reason I know this is still have 2 Beretta shotguns that were given as a from mike Joe Berliner to my dad, bob schnoz, in late sixties or early seventies. This wheel was made by the Rag.
Beretta stamped into it. Beretta company in Milan italy the late fifties or early sixties. This is the same manufacturer famous for producing handguns, rifles, shotguns. The Berliner brothers, Michael Joseph, were cousins to Ernie Larry wise of cosmopolitan motors.
Dormice closed and I still deal in European motorcycle goodies. My dad used to joke that they were re ted him, but he was a gun collector and i'm sure really did appreciate the t.Here is an item with most likely a better story behind its existence than the value of itself, however, i'll give it shot.

I haven't advertised on for a while, but am recently unemployed. They also had family at the Beretta factory, that's why this rim has Rag. I am not entirely sure, but this may also be the same 16 rear wheel that came on j-be k100 motorcycle, or other German small bikes and scooters with a 4.
